DoubleSpeak is a short dance duet (12 min.) playing with the notion of identity between two individuals.

The starting point of our duet was the fact that people keep mistaking us for one another after having seen us perform. Our alter egos Brandon Baker and Jos Lagaert highlight the absurdity of
this situation.

From there you see two characters whose movement qualities are born out of deliberately distorted body language, mimicking and mirroring each other in a competitive nature which ends up creating an ambiguous narrative.

Doublespeak: deliberately obscuring and distorting language in order to hide the truth.
