BRONKS atelier: Retrostation
A 4 day workshop hosted by Bronks with children between the ages of 7 and 9 which resulted in a showing of 30 minutes.
The children and I have worked around videogames and old technology.
We have discussed the topic of aged technology, of the time when their parents were kids, to show that contemporary technology hasn’t always been a seamless experience.
During the introduction, contemporary dance was framed in a way to make the children understand its origins through video and simple explanations. After this introduction an exercise was done that made the children improve/alter the excerpts they had just seen of different contemporary dance performances that were once landmarks in the field.
BRONKS atelier: Hey Joe!
A 5 day workshop hosted by Bronks with children between the ages of 9 and 12 which resulted in a showing of 35 minutes.
The children and I have worked around contemporary topics that are holding this generation’s children busy such as pollution and the implementation of technology.
We have also discussed more personal topics like death and in which way they have been into contact with it. These discussions were interesting to see how a major concern for adults, influences children differently in the way they cope with loss because of their smaller frame of experience.
